Business Planning

Every business needs a business plan. Most people wouldn’t think about going on family vacation to an unfamiliar place without researching their destination prior to leaving. Nor would they travel without planning the details of their visit. What are the objectives for the trip, what do they want to see each day, where will they stay and how much will it cost? Unfortunately, many of these same people do a better job planning their vacations than they do their business.

A good business plan defines the business, sets its goals, outlines its objectives, assesses risks, and creates a roadmap for success. A solid business plan is often required by investors when your business seeks additional capital to fund the company’s growth. But developing an effective business plan takes time to produce and often that time is at a premium and just isn’t available. That’s where Corporate Ladders steps in. We will meet with you and your executive team to develop a business plan that’s right for your business. We start with a SWOT analysis, conduct individual staff interviews and take a wide look at markets, sales, competition, funding, and people. Our goal is to provide a compete business plan that provides the knowledge and charts to navigate uncertain waters to help your business achieve success. How can we help you?

Human Resources

Perhaps your business has reached a point where people and human resource matters occupy a good part of your day. Dealing with employees takes time and must always be done with an eye toward fairness and compliance with the employment law. When companies begin to grow they hire to employees. These new employees need to be managed and motivated to build your business and add value. Hiring additional people sometimes requires management to spend a disproportionate amount of their time managing people issues and not their business. Sometimes this is caused by a lack of understanding of how the company operates. Do you have a policy on sexual harassment? How about personal use of computers and email? What is your overtime policy?

If you don’t have answers to these questions your business may be at risk and it may be time to develop a Human Resource Manual. In addition to freeing up management to run the business, a Human Resource Manual will define employment policy and procedures, outline benefit programs, and assure employees are treated fairly and equitably to keep you and your business out of trouble.

Leadership

Most successful businesses have something in common - Good Leadership! With proper guidance and support good leaders can be developed at all levels of your organization. Good leadership is a combination of providing vision, assessing risks, planning, motivating, managing and training.

A good leader has a vision for the future and translates that vision into goals. The goals must be realistic and attainable but to achieve these goals may require a full stretch of the company’s people, operations and resources. Next, good leadership assembles a team of advisors to help determine the best course of action to achieve the goal. When the plan is developed good leaders explain the benefits of achieving the goal to the organization and to everyone involved. By making sure everyone understands the goal and its benefits the leader gains the trust and support of their organization. Finally, the best leaders make sure the right people are in place, have been well trained, and are prepared with whatever they need for success.

If you have a situation that requires leadership at any level we have the background to help your business succeed. Corporate Ladders is ready to step in to provide interim leadership for a transitional situation or develop leadership training at any level in your organization. Let us know how we can help you.
